HELLO SINGAPORE! I LOVE BANGKOK! YEAH BABY, YEAH!
okay maybe i'm sort of a travel jinx...i
lost my voice in bangkok -_-; i don't really know how that came about, but i'm thinking the mars bar i ate on the aeroplane did the damage =/ not to mention i didn't bring my cough mixture that the doc gave when i saw him after the china trip.
heheh. bangkok immigrations are
extremely slow!! we had to wait like an hour to clear it.
reached the hotel at a very unearthly 3am (bangkok time 2am). the hotel was nice(= the rooms are bigger than the average hotel room. but the lingering smoke smell in the corridor sucks =/ and the rooms don't have a doorbell...one time i knocked on my father's door and the noise probably irritated the grumpy old man opposite us who opened the door. lucky i entered the room just in time. siao lah he.
the next day we went to mbk centre! and we got cheated by a tourist 'police' who said that it was a holiday and the shops were not open yet..so he directed us to some tourist centre...i hate that sorta thing. it was swarming with tourists and you're supposed to buy gems or whatever. to me, the most interesting things there were the saltwater fish tanks. and i can't stand the very persistant salespeople who stick to you like glue!! gahhh damn irritating!
so we were pissed and all..returned to mbk. the shops were open lor -_-; damn that faux policeman! anyway, mbk's so big you can get lost there. practically everything retails for 199 baht (s$8). it's a fake haven. we bought
so much. but in my opinion we could have bought more =/. spent the almost whole day there...we did walk to siam centre or smth. it's full of real shops which cater to people with fat wallets and lotsa money to burn, aka not us=D. had dinner at some thai restaurant. i remember going there 4 years ago..we ate there every night lor. they cook a mean glass noodle with crab(x.
omigosh my voice was so froggish on the 2nd day! hahahahaah.. we took a taxi to chatuchak weekend market...man, it's stifling hot there. and they don't really allow bargaining there...guess their business is too good for them to lower the price -_-; the max discount they give is a meagre 180b from 199b. sheesh. what a
beeeg difference! some advice: when you see something you like, don't say "i'll come back again" cos you'll probably never find that store again. man, the market is a
labyrinth! it's sprawling and messy and hot and dirty. but there's lots to buy i guess. and the toilets are
ew. i didn't go to the pets section =/ i wouldn't mind sneaking a doggie in my bag home. i see people carrying the most adorable puppies/hamsters etc. aiyoh it just melts your heart! and it's so cheap also. but bringing the pet home is a different story =/ and remember to check your purchases man! we bought a shirt that was brown but when we went to the hotel it was black... and my brother's pants were supposed to be a size 30 but we found out the lady gave us a 32. either they're swindling us or they're plain blur. i'm thinking the former. went back to mbk for dinner! ate teppanyaki! omg the beef steak is more than heavenly!! and it's cheap too. i wanna eat it NOW. the mushrooms were also very nice=D. bought supper..kfc and dunkin' donuts. i love dunkin donuts! why doesn't singapore have dunkin' donuts? =/
on our last day all we did was swim in the hotel pool. the water is
freezing! and the jacuzzi is so cool..you gotta turn on a switch and the whole raised platform bubbles with erm, bubbles! checked out and went to the airport. check-in was pretty slow. thank goodness the immigration at singapore was smooth sailing. i love changi airport man. heheh.
* * *
ahh christmas is coming! couldn't go to the sleepover though =/ nor did i go shopping. wrapped a lot of presents yesterday and put them under the tree. but the area under the tree still looks pretty bare...what it needs is some BIG presents..for me lor duh. heheheh.
p.s.: i'm not changing the font colour! i am evil! heheh. oh yeah and i bought smth for the fivefcukingfreaks. =D
