guides camp: 12 - 14 december 2005erm, what can i say? day one was dreadful. everything was exactly the same as last year's camp. in the morning we pitched the bloody tents and made the bloody gadgets. we did pioneering. axemanship and whatever you know? it was dead tiring. and boring. and hot. and sweaty. and smelly. and all the other horrible things you can imagine. i heard countless "i want to go home"s that day. and our group won the coordinates game! haha. we were extremely kiasu and ran while the rest of the groups took a stroll in the park. but it was real sweaty =/. i hate sweat. heheh. sleeping in the tent was okay i guess. it was hot babehh. but cold in the morning.
day two was so much better. we did craft. as in the primary school sort of craft (potato printing? some more they use sweet potato =p) all i enjoyed was ruining my patrol's painting with a big black smudged gorilla hand when i was gonna place my painted hand on the mahjong paper, but erm, lost my balance. heheh. and cos davina and i were leaving the school, we were exempted from doing the collage and ice cream stick stars. =)
we had 5 whole hours of outdoor cooking. honestly, do they have
anything else for us to do? 5 hours is no walk in the park. our fire diededed (3 times) which was damn irritating. so we had to put our chicken in the oven. heheh. the conventional way. and it tasted great! our cake mix in oranges was nice too(x oh and the pizza! except that they gave us maggi tomato ketchup to spread on the dough. like
hello? ...
erm the campfire was a little pathetic. only an hour long. our group's performance was the hokey pokey song (with the cooperation of your friends). then we sang the usual songs..and that's it.
after that was the murder-mystery night game. everything is so ltc lor.
day three, aka today was alright i guess. other than the fact that we were dismissed late -_-; and how sucky striking camp is, it was alright. i liked the coin game =D but i didn't like the insects and lizards =/ but we did get a mcchicken cos...isn't it obvious that they overcharged for the camp? how much can nasi lemak from the malay stall cost? and all their food is the extremely cheapo type. -______-
all i can say is, i'm never coming back to a guide camp. never. i don't see why the seniors wanna come back. their passion for guides has
got to be strong. unlike 99% of the mg guides. heh.
haiyoh, tab should have warned us more that we would get tortured at camp, although she did lah. and my
ka chng (BUTT) hurts a lot cos we sat on the ground for 70% of the camp. seriously, i am sitting on one butt cheek my butt hurts! help.
